Erling Haaland Secures Massive Deal with Man City, Committed Until 2034!

Erling Haaland signs lucrative new contract with Man City until 2034

Erling Haaland has signed a lucrative new contract with Manchester City that extends through 2034, solidifying his long-term commitment to the Premier League champions during a time of uncertainty for the club both on and off the pitch.

The Manchester club confirmed this remarkable deal on Friday, which spans ten years from the current season. At just 24 years old, Haaland has made a significant impact, netting 111 goals in 125 matches since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, establishing himself as one of the elite strikers in global football.

This contract marks the longest in Premier League history, with Haaland reportedly earning approximately £500,000 ($600,000) weekly, a testament to his value and the club’s investment in his talent.

When asked about the unusual length of Haaland’s contract, City manager Pep Guardiola humorously responded, “I said, ‘Can you repeat?'” highlighting the unexpected nature of such a commitment.

As the Norway international approaches his 34th birthday by the time this contract concludes, The Athletic reported that the new agreement has eliminated release clauses present in his previous contract, which was set to expire in June 2027.

This new contract comes at a pivotal moment, as Manchester City awaits a ruling regarding 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations. Potential outcomes could include severe penalties, such as points deductions or even relegation.

In promotional content released by the club, Haaland made a bold statement: “Now I am City no matter what,” emphasizing his dedication to the team.

A video released alongside the announcement features Haaland calling City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, exclaiming, “It’s all signed now,” to which Khaldoon replied, “OK, now I am comfortable.”

Txiki Begiristain, the club’s outgoing director of football, remarked, “The fact he is signed for so long demonstrates our commitment to him as a player, and his love of this club.”

This contract signing sets the stage for what is anticipated to be a busy transfer period for Manchester City, who are expected to pursue multiple new players as they navigate through their most challenging season since Guardiola’s arrival in 2016.

Currently, City sits sixth in the Premier League after 21 matches, struggling to maintain their title defense due to injuries to key players and inconsistent performances. Additionally, the team faces uncertainty regarding their advancement in the Champions League, with a critical match against Paris Saint-Germain on the horizon.

“I am really confident that we will turn things around,” Haaland stated. “Things have been difficult as we are so used to winning games, but also it is a challenge for us.”

He added, “To get this feeling of hunger inside every single one of us to not look at things easier. Don’t take things for granted; that is an important thing. I will do everything I can to change things around.”

In his debut season with Manchester City, Haaland scored an impressive 52 goals across all competitions, including a record-breaking 36 in the Premier League, contributing to the team’s historic Treble victory. Last season, he added 38 goals in 45 matches and has already netted 21 goals this season as he aims for a third consecutive Golden Boot.

Guardiola acknowledged Haaland’s exceptional talent, stating, “Of course he is a special player. To find a player like Erling, it’s so difficult to find a striker at that level. Once you have it, you need to make the effort to keep him.”

In a personal note, Haaland, who recently announced he is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, reflected on his time at the club, saying it has “been like a dream in these two-and-a-half years.”

He concluded, “I am really looking forward to what is next.”
