Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs will miss Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers due to a persistent knee issue. FOX Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer has reported that Diggs will not return this season and will require knee surgery to address the problem.
Before his recent return, Diggs had already missed two games because of groin and knee injuries. In the Monday night matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, which ended in a 27-20 defeat for the Cowboys, he managed to record five tackles and defended three passes. Last season, he faced a significant setback, missing 15 games due to a torn ACL in his left knee.
The game against Cincinnati marked a rare moment this season when Diggs, a 2021 All-Pro selection, played alongside DaRon Bland, who earned 2023 All-Pro honors after setting an NFL record with five interception returns for touchdowns. Bland had been sidelined for the first ten games of the season due to a foot injury, making their brief partnership even more significant for the team’s defensive strategy.
