Colorado star Travis Hunter says coach Deion Sanders isn't going anywhere

Travis Hunter, the standout two-way player for Colorado, confidently asserts that Coach Deion Sanders is not going anywhere.

During a recent event in Manhattan, where he is a strong contender for the Heisman Trophy, Hunter stated, “I got a lot of insight. He ain’t going nowhere. He’s going to be right where he’s at right now.”

In his second year leading the team, Coach Sanders has guided the Colorado Buffaloes to a notable 9-3 record, marking their first bowl appearance since 2020. The Buffaloes are set to compete against No. 17 BYU (10-2) in the Alamo Bowl on December 28.

Rumors have circulated about Sanders potentially pursuing other coaching opportunities due to his rising fame and success in Boulder. However, he has publicly dismissed these speculations.

Hunter, a junior wide receiver and cornerback, is preparing to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, where he is projected to be a top-five pick, possibly even the first overall selection. He echoed the sentiments of Coach Sanders and his teammate, star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, affirming their commitment to play in the Alamo Bowl instead of opting out to focus on the draft.

“It’s definitely important because I started this thing with Coach Prime and Shedeur, along with most of the coaching staff,” Hunter explained. “I didn’t give them a full season my first year because of injury, so I’m going to go ahead and end this thing off right. This will be our last game together, and I want to dominate and show my loyalty to him.”
