Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty is having a historic 2024 season that stands out in college football history.
With an astonishing total of 2,497 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns, Jeanty’s performance has been pivotal in guiding the Broncos to a remarkable 12-1 record, clinching the Mountain West title, and securing a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff. They are set to compete against the winner of the matchup between No. 11 SMU and No. 6 Penn State in the quarterfinals.
Jeanty has earned the prestigious Doak Walker Award, which honors the nation’s top running back, and he is also a finalist for the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
While Jeanty’s achievements are remarkable, he faces stiff competition for the Heisman from Colorado Buffaloes’ standout Travis Hunter, who has made headlines with 92 receptions for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns as a wide receiver, along with four interceptions as a cornerback. Despite this, Jeanty’s season is one of the most impressive for a running back in collegiate history.

267: Earlier this season, Jeanty showcased his skills with 20 carries for 267 yards (averaging 13.4 yards per carry) and six touchdowns against Georgia Southern. He became only the second player since 2000 to achieve over 250 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns in fewer than 20 carries, following Levron Williams, who accomplished this in 2001 at Indiana. Notably, Jeanty is the first to achieve this feat outside a power conference.
