Argentina tops FIFA men's soccer rankings for second straight year, USMNT ranked No. 15

Argentina, the reigning soccer world champion, has secured its position as the top-ranked men’s team in the FIFA standings for the second consecutive year as of 2024.

The latest rankings, released on Thursday, showed minimal shifts, with only 21 international matches played since the last update in November.

Argentina concluded the year in first place, closely followed by France, while Spain, the current European champion, rounded out the top three.

The remainder of the top ten remained stable, featuring England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Germany in that order.

FIFA highlighted Angola’s remarkable rise, as the nation played the most matches in 2024 and climbed 32 spots to secure the 85th position.

The next set of rankings is set to be published in April, continuing the anticipation for fans and teams alike.
