Alex Karaban leads No. 3 UConn to 92-56 win over Sacred Heart in season opener

Alex Karaban led No. 3 UConn to a decisive 92-56 victory over Sacred Heart in their season opener on Wednesday night, showcasing his impressive skills with 20 points, seven rebounds, seven blocks, and six assists.

Liam McNeeley contributed significantly, adding 18 points and securing 10 rebounds as the Huskies aim for their third consecutive national championship title. Solo Ball also made his mark with 16 points.

Tarris Reed rounded out the strong performance for Connecticut, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds, helping the team dominate the boards with a 47-25 rebounding advantage over Sacred Heart.

For the Pioneers, Amiri Stewart scored 13 points, while Bryce Johnson added 10 points in their effort against the formidable Huskies, who now hold a 2-0 record for the season.

Tanner Thomas, who shone with 22 points in Sacred Heart’s previous loss to Temple, found it challenging this time, managing only six points in the game.
