2025 NFL Draft odds: Will Titans retain the No. 1 pick?

The 2025 NFL Draft odds indicate that the Tennessee Titans are poised to retain the No. 1 pick.

However, the team might explore the possibility of trading down.

Awarded to the team with the worst record, the No. 1 pick belongs to Tennessee, thanks to a few tiebreakers, as they head into the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite holding this coveted position, the Titans may not necessarily select a player with that pick.

As of February 17, DraftKings Sportsbook provides odds on which team will ultimately select first on April 24.

Team to pick first

Titans: -295 (bet $10 to win $13.39 total)
Giants: +450 (bet $10 to win $55 total)
Raiders: +450 (bet $10 to win $55 total)
Browns: +450 (bet $10 to win $55 total)
Jets: +450 (bet $10 to win $55 total)

Currently, the Titans are strong favorites to keep the No. 1 pick. In his latest mock draft, FOX Sports NFL analyst Rob Rang predicts they will focus on defense, selecting standout linebacker Abdul Carter from Penn State instead of a quarterback.

“Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker has expressed that the team will not overlook a ‘generational talent’ just to draft a quarterback at No. 1,” Rang noted. “Carter stands out as one of the few blue-chip prospects in this draft class, showcasing significant potential at a key position.”

Analyst Joel Klatt predicts a trade scenario where the Titans swap picks with the Giants at No. 3, ultimately selecting Miami’s standout player, Ward, with that third pick.

Since 1967, the No. 1 pick has been traded 13 times. The most recent instance saw the Chicago Bears trade their first pick in 2023 to the Carolina Panthers.

In return, the Bears received wide receiver DJ Moore, a first-round selection for 2024, and multiple additional picks.

The Panthers used their first pick in 2023 to select quarterback Bryce Young. However, after a disappointing 2-15 season, their first-round pick for 2024 became the top overall selection, which Chicago used to draft Caleb Williams.

Tennessee has its own history of trading the top pick.

In 2016, the Titans traded the No. 1 pick to the Los Angeles Rams, receiving a collection of picks in return. One of those selections turned into Derrick Henry, who was drafted in the second round at No. 45.

Henry made a significant impact during his eight seasons with the Titans and ranks second on the franchise’s all-time rushing leaderboard, trailing only Eddie George.

The Rams selected quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft.
