Clippers trading P.J. Tucker, Mo Bamba to Jazz for Patty Mills, Drew Eubanks

The LA Clippers are trading P.J. Tucker and Mo Bamba to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Patty Mills and Drew Eubanks, a move that includes a future second-round draft pick, as reported by a source who requested anonymity pending NBA approval of the trade.

ESPN was the first to break the news about this agreement. The trade deadline is approaching on Thursday afternoon.

This transaction is strategic for the Clippers, allowing them to slip under the luxury tax threshold while creating room for potential acquisitions later in the season. Bamba has seen action in 28 games this season, contributing an average of 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds.

Tucker, on the other hand, has not participated in any games for the Clippers this season. The organization and Tucker agreed in October that he would not be part of the team, leading to ongoing efforts to trade the 39-year-old veteran.

Joining the Clippers last season in a deal that also brought James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers, Tucker is now in the final year of a three-year, $33 million contract and is considered a candidate for a buyout.

Drew Eubanks, who celebrated his 28th birthday recently, averaged 5.8 points this season with the Jazz. Patty Mills, a seasoned NBA player who was part of the San Antonio Spurs’ 2014 championship team, contributed an average of 4.4 points in 17 games with Utah.
