2025 NBA Draft odds: Which team will select Cooper Flagg?

2025 NBA Draft odds indicate that teams with poor performance may have the opportunity to select Cooper Flagg.

In every sports season, the teams finishing at the bottom of the standings often find themselves with the best chances for a high draft pick in the following year.

This brings attention to Cooper Flagg, a standout talent from Duke University.

The NBA teams that struggle the most from now until the spring will bolster their odds of drafting Flagg, who is projected to be among the top picks in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Current betting odds from DraftKings Sportsbook highlight which teams are in the running for Flagg’s selection, as of January 13.

Which Team Will Draft Cooper Flagg?

Wizards: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)
Jazz: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)
Pelicans: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Hornets: +650 (bet $10 to win $75 total)
Raptors: +650 (bet $10 to win $75 total)
Blazers: +700 (bet $10 to win $80 total)
Nets: +700 (bet $10 to win $80 total)

The Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz lead the odds, which is not surprising given their current standing.

After a promising start of 2-2, the Wizards have spiraled to a 6-31 record as of January 13. They rank as the league’s worst defense, allowing the most points and losing by an average margin of over 14 points per game.

However, there is a silver lining in their struggles.

Flagg has emerged as a frontrunner for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft. In his 16 games at Duke, he has averaged 19.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.3 blocks.

His shooting statistics reflect a solid performance, with 47.9% from the field and 34.5% from three-point range.

In the context of the draft lottery, the three teams with the worst records each hold a 14% chance of securing the No. 1 pick. The fourth-worst team has a 12.5% chance, while the fifth-worst team stands at 10.5%.

Unfortunately for Washington and others, the trend has not favored the worst-performing team in recent drafts.

Last year, the Atlanta Hawks, who had only a 3% chance, managed to select No. 1 despite making the play-in tournament.

The Detroit Pistons, who ended the season with the worst record, were left picking fifth.

In 2023, the San Antonio Spurs, with the second-worst record, were awarded the first pick, while Detroit again fell to the fifth spot despite having the worst record.

The last instance of the team with the worst record winning the draft lottery occurred in 2018, when the Phoenix Suns, finishing 21-61, claimed Deandre Ayton as their top pick.
