Aaron Rodgers Joins Elite Club as 5th NFL Player to Reach 500 Career Touchdowns!

Aaron Rodgers becomes 5th NFL player to throw 500 career regular-season TDs

Aaron Rodgers has officially joined an elite group, becoming the fifth player in NFL history to achieve 500 career regular-season touchdown passes. This milestone was reached during the second quarter of the New York Jets’ matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

With the Jets facing a first-and-goal situation at the 5-yard line, Rodgers skillfully maneuvered in the pocket, buying crucial seconds before delivering a precise pass to Tyler Conklin in the end zone. This play brought the Jets ahead with a score of 7-6, just 7:57 before halftime.

Rodgers now stands alongside legends such as Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539), and Brett Favre (508), marking a significant achievement in his illustrious career.

At 41 years old, Rodgers entered the game just one touchdown shy of this milestone, having thrown his 499th touchdown on an 11-yard pass to Davante Adams during a 99-yard opening drive against the Los Angeles Rams on December 22.

His performance in Buffalo the previous week was less than stellar, as he failed to throw a touchdown, recorded two interceptions, and was sacked four times, bringing his career total to an NFL-record 568 before being replaced by Tyrod Taylor in the fourth quarter.

Looking ahead, Rodgers’ future with the Jets remains uncertain. He has expressed a desire to continue his career with the Jets, but he also mentioned the need for reflection during the offseason, as he has one year left on his contract.

The Jets, meanwhile, are in a period of transition, with searches for both a general manager and head coach currently underway. Owner Woody Johnson and the new management team may decide to part ways with Rodgers, exploring different options for the upcoming season.
