Lakers coach JJ Redick says he doesn't know when LeBron James will return

LeBron James will not be suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers in their upcoming match against the Minnesota Timberwolves this Friday evening. Head coach JJ Redick expressed uncertainty about when the NBA superstar will make his return to the court.

When questioned about James’ availability, Redick’s response was succinct, leaving fans eager for more information.

This marks the second consecutive game that James will miss due to foot soreness, coinciding with the Lakers’ return from a four-day break.

The all-time leading scorer in NBA history had an excused absence earlier this week for “personal reasons,” as clarified by Redick on Wednesday. It remains uncertain if James will make the trip to Minnesota before the Lakers host the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Sunday.

James previously missed his first game of the season, which ties him for a record 22nd NBA season, when the Lakers secured a victory against the Portland Trail Blazers last Sunday. That absence was also linked to his ongoing foot issue.

Currently, James is averaging 23.0 points, 9.1 assists, and 8.0 rebounds for the Lakers, who hold a record of 13-11 and have faced challenges lately, losing seven of their last ten games after a promising 10-4 start.

In related news, the Lakers have upgraded starter Austin Reaves to questionable for the Minnesota matchup after he missed the last five games due to a pelvic bruise. Additionally, Anthony Davis is listed as probable, dealing with left plantar fasciitis.
