Today’s NBA Game Prediction: Pacers vs. Bucks – Basketball Pick for 3/7/19

The Indiana Pacers dropped three of four before rallying late to drop the Bulls and sweep that season series. Indiana entered Wednesday third in the Eastern Conference, 6.5 games behind the Bucks for the top spot in both the conference and the Central Division. Indiana led by 10 after the opening quarter, by seven at the half and by two after three quarters. Indiana trailed 86-85 with 7:08 to play before reeling off a 10-0 run over the next 3:10 to take a nine-point edge. Indiana didn’t see their lead drop below five the rest of the way. Indiana shot 45.2 percent from the field, including 11 of 25 from three-point range, and held the Bulls to 38.7 percent shooting in the game. Bojan Bogdanovic led the The Indiana Pacers with 27 points and six boards in the win.

The Milwaukee Bucks became the last team in the league this season to drop back to back games as they were beaten in Utah and Phoenix their last two contests. The Suns, who are the worst team in the league, became the first team to beat Milwaukee multiple times this year. Milwaukee entered Wednesday leading the Eastern Conference by 2.5 games over Toronto and stood 6.5 games clear of Indiana in the Central Division. Milwaukee led by 11 over Phoenix after the opening quarter, by two at the half and by six after three quarters before fatigue caught up with them. The Milwaukee Bucks was outscored 38-23 in the fourth, including 11-2 over the final 1:21, to take the loss. The Bucks shot 36.8 percent from the field, including 12 of 42 from three-point range, and turned the ball over 14 times in the loss. Giannis Antetokounmpo led The Milwaukee Bucks with 21 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals before fouling out.

My numbers see a tight game Thursday between the Pacers and Bucks. I’ve got Indiana staying within five points or fewer and covering this spread in more than 60 percent of simulations. Milwaukee has been covering at a rapid pace of late, so there’s been an adjustment and we should take advantage with a solid road underdog getting double figures.
