SAN JOSE @ WASHINGTON | 1/22 | 7:00 PM EST
The San Jose Sharks had been rolling right along as they won seven games in a row, but after falling to the Florida Panthers on the road, they have now lost their last three games in a row. The Game was tied at 2-2, but Florida exploded for four goals in the final frame to walk away with the impressive win. The Sharks had been getting great play in the crease as they allowed a total of 14 goals during their win streak, but have since allowed six goals in each of their last three games.
The Washington Capitals are floundering at the moment. They enter this game of an 8-5 road loss to the Chicago Blackhawks and have now lost their last five games in a row. That puts them in a 2nd place tie with the Blue Jackets in the Metro Division. Both teams are three points behind the red-hot New York Islanders. The good news against the Blackhawks was that their offense finally woke up.
I’m projecting 6.9 goals on Tuesday night for San Jose-Washington, giving us a solid play on the Over. The Over is cashing in 69 percent of my simulations.
