NCAAB Kansas vs. Kentucky Prediction, Preview

KANSAS @ KENTUCKY | 1/26 | 6:00 PM EST

Kansas was on a three-game winning run but the West Virginia Mountaineers prevented from getting the fourth in a row with a narrow victory; however, the Jayhawks responded with a home win over the Iowa State Cyclones, who beat them earlier this month. The Jayhawks improved to the 16-3 record and stayed at the top of the Big 12 Conference with a win ahead of the closest followers Texas Tech Red Raiders and Kansas State Wildcats, and eight more than the last-placed Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Kentucky continued with solid displays after the Alabama Crimson Tide snapped their three-game winning run and secured the fifth consecutive victory as they defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs at home. The Wildcats improved to the 15-3 record and are currently sitting in the 2nd position in the Southeastern Conference with a couple of wins behind the leaders Tennessee Volunteers, with the same record as the LSU Tigers and eight wins ahead of the bottom-placed Texas A&M Aggies.

The line is just a bit too big to trust Kentucky to cover, even at home. Kansas has made a habit of playing (and winning) in close games this season. They’ve got the best player on the floor, too, in Dedric Lawson. I expect Kentucky to win, but take the points here. These teams have often played close games over the past half-decade.
