NCAAB Indiana vs. Maryland Prediction, Preview

INDIANA @ MARYLAND | 1/11 | 7:00 PM EST

The Maryland Terrapins will host the #22 Indiana Hoosiers in a Big Ten head-to-head showdown Friday night from the Xfinity Center. The Hoosiers were beaten 74-63 against #2 Michigan in their prior action last weekend, and the Terrapins knocked down an 82-67 road win over Minnesota in their earlier action. Indiana tallied a 71-68 home win against Maryland in the lone meeting last season.

The Indiana Hoosiers had a seven game winning streak halted in a 74-63 road loss to #2 Michigan in their previous contest to bring their Big Ten record to 3-1. The Hoosiers only posted a 42.6% clip from the field, while Michigan was able to sink 50% of their field goals. Hoosiers’ top scorer Romeo Langford netted 17 points on a 5 for 11 shooting performance in the defeat.

The Maryland Terrapins will be targeting their fifth consecutive win in this contest. They improved to 4-1 in Big Ten play with a convincing  82-67 road win against Minnesota on Tuesday in a matchup that had Minnesota favored by 2 points.

Indiana has one of the top 1-2 punches in the country with freshman sensation Romeo Langford and senior forward Juwan Morgan. Along with a pretty solid cast, this Hoosiers team could develop into a Big 10 title contender. They should have the motivation edge Friday against Maryland. Indiana was blitzed early in its last game against second-ranked Michigan and never recovered. Meanwhile, Maryland rolled in its last two road games and could be in for a letdown spot. There’s value with the Hoosiers and the points.

PICK* INDIANA +5
