STANFORD @ USC | 1/06 | 8:00 PM EST
USC (8-6, 1-0) matched a season high with their third straight win Thursday night, opening conference play with an 82-73 victory over California. The Trojans look to run their winning streak to four games and complete a sweep of the northern California teams of the Pac-12 on Sunday night when it hosts Stanford.
Stanford (7-6, 0-1 Pac-12), which is trying to reach the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in 11 years, was run out of Pauley Pavilion 92-70 by a UCLA team playing its first game under Murry Bartow following the firing of Steve Alford.
The Cardinals got dismantled by UCLA and shot 37.1 percent in the loss. They’re 1-4 on the road. USC comes in on a three-game win streak and is 7-2 at home. In my simulations, the Trojans are covering 67 percent of the time. Lay the points.
